Drilling Grade Bentonite

Drilling Grade Bentonite

Our Drilling Grade Bentonite is specifically processed to meet the rigorous demands of the oil and gas industry as well as water well drilling.

Drill bentonite absorbs water and swells, creating a stable, gel like structure that seals the borehole walls and prevents them from craving it. Drill bentonite have high viscosity range so high viscosity of our material allows it to carry rock cutting from the drill bit all the way to the surface. Drill bentonite is a thin, low permeability “filter cake” on the borehole walls, which prevents drilling fluid from seeping into the surrounding formations and helps maintain the pressure control.

Drill bentonite circulates to cool and lubricate the drill bit during operation. Gel Strength: - When circulation stops, drill bentonite forms a gel that suspends the cuttings, and it breaks down easily to a flow able state when drilling resumes. VM drill bentonite meets strict standards, such as those set by American Petroleum Institute (API), to ensure it has the required viscosity, gel strength, YP: PV ratio and filtration control for safe and efficient drilling. We design our VM drill grade bentonite to remain stable and effective under the high temperatures and pressures encountered in drilling operations.

Core Function: Drill bentonite absorbs water and swells, creating a stable, gel-like structure that seals the borehole walls.

  • Exceptional filtration control
  • High thermal stability in deep wells
  • Lubricates and cools the cutting tools
  • Efficiently carries cuttings to the surface

Foundry Grade Bentonite

Foundry Grade Bentonite

High-quality sodium bentonite is essential for modern foundry casting. Our grade offers superior bonding properties for green sand molding.

Our foundry bentonite is a special type of sodium bentonite clay with high montimorolite content, processed for superior binding, swelling and thermal stability, making it an essential binder for creating strong, precise sand molds in metal casting (iron, steel, non-ferrous) to ensure high quality castings.VM Strength bond bentonite in foundry moulding sand gives high green compressive strength (GCS) to clay content ratios. Maximum Wet tensile strength (WTS) is obtained in foundry sand, bonded with bentonite which gives increased production.

ABC bond bentonite swells 12 to 20 times its original volume in water. The rate of swelling not only depends on the fineness and grade of bentonite but also on how it’s handled while mixing. ABC bond bentonite swells faster when poured into water as compared to water being poured into it. ABC bond bentonite provides high gelling when mixed with water (of 10% or above concentration) and develops excellent gelling properties. ABC bond provides high Green compressive strength (GCS) & Wet Tensile Strength (WTS). Cleaner and deeper patterns draws with fewer mould drops. Even naturally – bonded moulding sands show improvement when supplemented with ABC bond bentonite and increase production, reduce moisture and are used repeatedly. Foundry man having intensive mixing equipment will find that addition of even small quantities of ABC bond bentonite to their facing mixtures (being used) considerably improves workability.

Core Function: High montmorillonite content ensures elite binding strength and exceptional thermal stability during metal casting.

  • High Green Compression Strength (GCS)
  • Excellent durability and reusability
  • High hot strength to prevent mold erosion
  • Superior surface finish of castings

IOP Grade Bentonite

IOP Grade Bentonite

Our Iron Ore Pelletization (IOP) grade is engineered to provide the necessary binding strength for the formation of iron ore pellets.

Iron ore palletisation grade bentonite is used as a binder in iron ore pelletizing to create strong, durable pellets for steel production. Its key function is to improve the dry and green strength of pellets by expanding its clay layers when hydrated, which binds the ore particles together. It is also improves pellet quality by increasing drying rate and handling moisture variations in the feed.

IOP grade bentonite’s primary role is to bind the fine iron ore particles into uniformly shaped, spherical pellets. IOP grade bentonite provides excellent green and dry strength to pellets, ensuring they can withstand handling and the intense conditions inside blast furnaces without damage. IOP grade bentonite absorbs excess moisture, allowing for higher moisture content in the feed, and helps in overcoming variations in moisture levels through dosage adjustments. IOP grade bentonite increases the drying rate of pellets by providing channels for moisture to escape during the drying process. Our special IOP grade bentonite specialized contain low silica, hence there is no extra slag formation. IOP grade bentonite has natural higher percentage of iron content, which makes it ideal for isolating iron ore pellets with the maximum percentage of iron.IOP grade bentonite has higher water update and retention capacity (Water Plate) that develops actual bond between particles which eventually results into good water absorption and enables easy as well as, faster formation of pellets.

Core Function: Used as a binder in iron ore pelletizing to create strong, transportable pellets for blast furnaces.

  • Rapid water absorption for quick bonding
  • High dry and wet ball strength
  • Uniform pellet size distribution
  • Improved thermal shock resistance

Piling Grade Bentonite

Pilling & Civil Engineering Grade Bentonite

Specifically designed for diaphragm walls, tunneling, and piling foundations where excavation stability is paramount.

Pilling & Civil engineering grade bentonite is primarily used to stabilize excavations and drilling operations by creating a high viscosity slurry that prevents borehole collapse. Its applications include supporting trenches, constructing diaphragm walls, and acting as a lubricant and sealant in various tunnelling and drilling projects like horizontal directional drilling and pipe jacking. It’s also used for soil stabilization and creating hydraulic barriers in landfills.

Pile bond bentonite slurry is used to prevent the walls of trenches and boreholes from collapsing during pilling and diaphragm wall construction. Pile bond bentonite is a key component in drilling mud for boreholes, providing viscosity and suspending power to remove drill cuttings and stabilize the borehole walls. Pile bond bentonite is used in tunnelling, micro tunnelling and horizontal direction drilling (HDD) as a lubricant and to maintain the stability of the bore. Pile bond uses to improve the stability of slopes and unstable ground during excavation. Pile bond creates a low – permeability barrier for containments like landfills, ponds and reservoirs.Pile bond uses in electrical earthling to improve ground conductivity and moisture retention. Pile bond deployed as a sealant to control groundwater flow in construction sites.

Core Function: Stabilizes excavations by creating a high-viscosity slurry that prevents borehole collapse.

  • Excellent thixotropic properties
  • High displacement efficiency
  • Minimal fluid loss into porous soil
  • Stable under high hydrostatic pressure
